Conclusion

This vocabulary course on wild animals was a little more difficult than the previous one, it’s normal, we have to start to learn a little more kanji. Many of these animal names have a purely Japanese pronunciation and we have some with a Sino-Japanese pronunciation like, for example, "the squirrel" which is said 栗鼠 . リス. I could also have mentioned two other species of squirrel : "the Japanese squirrel" which is said 日本栗鼠 . ニホンリス and "the red squirrel" which is said 北栗鼠 . キタリス. As a reminder, the kanji . キタ means "the north", therefore literally "the squirrel of the north" since it is present in almost all of Europe and all of Russia, although in English, we say "the red squirrel" compared to the color of his fur. Here, two more vocabulary words, I strongly advise you to learn them.
I will add another comment on the word 針鼠 . はりねずみ where we have the kanji of . はり which means "the needle" and the kanji of . ねずみ which means "the mouse". So, for a Japanese, a hedgehog is a mouse with needles on its back.
This vocabulary course is now finished, I leave you to your learning. Memorize these words, write them down, recite them over and over until you can remember them. There are 22 words to remember, so I recommend that you go gradually. Start by learning ten words today, revise them during the day, then the next day, add five more and repeat the same routine until you remember them all. Nothing like repetition.
Thank you all for reading this course and good luck with your revisions.
