VOCABULARY COURSE BY BRYAN MANGIN

人体の単語 - The human body

Introduction

Now that we are done with the particle , it is time to devote ourselves to a new vocabulary course which today focuses on the human body. On the program, 37 words to remember. It is a lot, but these words will be very useful to you. To help you, know that almost all of these words are in purely Japanese reading, which makes perfect sense; you can imagine that the Japanese already had words to designate the main parts of the body before going to retrieve the Chinese sinograms. You will therefore find in the list below some words in Sino-Japanese and I will not tell you more.
Now that this introduction is done, I leave you with the vocabulary words below. Good learning.

Conclusion

As usual, a few explanations for most of the kanji on this list :
In Japanese, there are three words pronounced かみ in pure Japanese reading. The kanji of (hair), that of (God, divinity), that of (paper).
The kanji of "the mouth", . くち, looks a lot like the katakana but it is indeed a kanji.
The kanji . むね is used to designate both the chest (speaking of a man) but also the chest or breasts (speaking of a woman). It is the most correct term to designate this part of the body. The word . ちち also refers to the breasts. Be careful however, this last term is a little more... folkloric.
The kanji . あし is used to designate either the foot or the leg depending on the context since the Japanese consider that the leg and the foot constitute one and the same part of the body.
This is all for the human body’s lexical. You can imagine that a second part will follow a little later because there is still a lot to say on the subject. I haven’t touched on the most... interesting parts of the body to most of you, and I suspect you were hoping to learn some very special words. It will be for another time, I promise, otherwise nothing prevents you from looking in the dictionary.
To come back to a more serious note, you know the music. Reread the lesson over and over again, practice writing as well as speaking until you memorize all this vocabulary, learn to draw all these kanji, practice drawing your katakana and your hiragana, and from time to time, review previous lessons. It’s always good for memory and learning.
Have a good day everyone and do your homework properly.
