VOCABULARY COURSE BY BRYAN MANGIN

洗面所の単語 - The bathroom

Introduction

The vocabulary course of the day is about the bathroom.
Again a new room in the house where you can find an incredible amount of everyday objects. I did everything to limit myself to twenty words and in the end, I found myself concocting a list of thirty-four vocabulary words. Like what, we can find a lot of things in a bathroom. This may sound like a lot to you but don’t worry, a quarter of these words are based on English, so katakanized.

Conclusion

Making this vocabulary list by stumbling upon a round number was quite complicated but I think I did pretty well.
You will have noticed that I did not put "the washing machine" or "the laundry basket". Well, I suspect that many of you have a laundry basket in your bathroom but I didn’t want to end up with an endless list, especially since the Japanese have at least two words to say "the laundry basket". They have a purely Japanese word and the English equivalent in katakana. You can look them up in the dictionary if you are interested in going further. Otherwise, for my part, I will find another vocabulary list in which I will put these words.
Finally, I will make a little comment on the word 風呂桶 . フロおけ which can mean two different things. It can refer to the bucket, traditionally made of wood, found in Japanese bathrooms, or a wooden tub that looks like a huge bucket in which you can take a bath.
This vocabulary course is now over, I leave you to your learning. Learn these words by heart, write them down, recite them over and over again until you can remember them. There are about thirty words to remember, so I recommend that you take it gradually. Start by learning ten words today, review them during the day, then the next day add five and repeat the same routine again until you remember them all. Nothing like repetition.
Thank you all for reading this course and good luck with your homework.
